The Voyage - Day 4

The Voyage - Day 4 (7/25/15)

"As long as you can be convinced that you never did anything, you'll never do anything."

Today was a very long and HOT one. The first stop was the Imhotep Museum. It was quite awing to see all the monuments and artifacts, but unfortunately we weren't allowed pictures inside. It was also unfortunate that there was no air conditioning inside where it was about 10 degrees warmer than the already 105 degrees outside, haha. It was a very, very small museum with only a few rooms, but we found ourselves ill-prepared for the intensity of the heat. Outside there was a little breeze, but I quickly forgot temperature as we approached one of the seven wonders of the world: The Giza Pyramids. One of my fellow travelers made a profound remark about the accomplishments of our ancestors in relation to ourselves: "As long as you can be convinced that you never did anything, you'll never do anything." This experience could be such an eyeopener for many African Americans who have either forgotten or were never taught the significance of our FAR reaching contribution to the development of civilization. We must get the knowledge and the experience out to the world. It feels almost...hidden...stolen...
